We are presently seeking a Transportation/Load Planner in Brampton.

Responsibilities

• Ability to multi-task and prioritize in time sensitive situations in a fast-paced environment
• Scheduling loads and providing excellent customer service
• Complying with instructions to ensure accuracy
• Communicating with associates from other shifts
• Identifying cost savings opportunities for the company.
• High sense of urgency tracking shipments to ensure on time delivery is met
• Effectively communicate with their drivers to maintain retention levels at, or above, company targeted goals.

 
THE ROLE:

• Plan routes, schedule pick-ups and deliveries
• Communicate with drivers via Qualcomm Satellite System
• Supervise Inbound/Outbound dispatch function and staff (1-3 direct reports)
• Recognize and identify inefficiencies and provide solutions

IDEAL CANDIDATE:

• A minimum of 1 year of experience in Load Planning.
• Knowledgeable in current "Hours of Services" laws.
• Computer literate
• Excellent geographic knowledge of Ontario and North America
• Ability to manage multiple projects with a sense of urgency while still paying attention to detail
• Ability to provide solutions to ever-changing scenarios
• Strong organizational skills
• Strong written and verbal communication skills
