Salary range: $82,651.05 to $92, 457.78
Our hospital and nursing home is located in the Town of Arnprior, less than 30 minutes northwest of Ottawa. There are approximately 400 staff, 200 volunteers, and a growing number of medical staff providing exemplary care to over 30,000 residents of West Ottawa, McNab/Braeside, Arnprior and portions of Mississippi Mills.
We are growing! A significant redevelopment project is currently underway for our Nursing Home which is increasing from 60 to 96 beds to better support our community.
We currently have an opportunity for a Full Time Occupational Health Nurse & Safety Coordinator. This position, which reports to the Vice President of People & Community Programs, will plan, organize and direct activities as they pertain to Occupational Health, Safety and Wellness to employees at the Hospital, Grove and Community Programs.
Qualifications:
- Registered Nurse licensed and in good standing with the CNO (BScN is preferred)
- Diploma or certificate in Occupational Safety, completed or in progress
- Minimum of three years’ experience in Occupational Health
- Experience with managing short- and long-term disability cases, WSIB claims, accommodation and the return to work processes
- Experience conducting employee health assessments, health histories and immunizations
- Knowledge and expertise with applicable Health & Safety legislation to ensure organizational compliance and timely reporting; will participate as a key resource member to Joint Health and Safety Committees
- Experience in writing, amending and reviewing policies
- Experience working in a unionized environment
- Demonstrated ability to work independently and collaboratively
- Excellent communication and computer skills
- Excellent time management and documentation skills
