Community Outreach/Fundraising Champion

Part-Time – 12 month Contract Position

Want a job where you can make the world a better place?  We are looking for an individual who is excellent at using the power of communication to inspire and engage those around them.  As a Community Outreach/Fundraising Champion you will share information and motivate donors to support our agency.   Community Living – Grimsby, Lincoln & West Lincoln is a non-profit organization, which provides services and supports to children, youth and adults with an intellectual disability and their families living in West Niagara, so that their quality of life in the community is meaningfully improved.

Currently, Community Living has a Part-time Community Outreach/Fundraising Champion opportunity.  This is a 12 month contract for 35 hours per week. Hours of work will be flexible and may include evenings and weekends.     

The Community Outreach/Fundraising Champion is responsible for conceptualizing, developing, planning, implementation and management of key fundraising events to generate annual revenues in support of our agency.  You will be responsible managing a donor database, developing grants, and evolving a fundraising infrastructure & running events, for the agency.

Reporting to the Executive Administrative Lead, the Community Outreach/Fundraising Champion is responsible for engagement with key community builders as committee members, event organizers, and volunteers to support fundraising efforts. As a passionate ambassador for CLGLWL the Community Outreach/Fundraising Champion also supports other departments in organizing and delivering friend-raising events to build key stakeholder engagement.

 

EDUCATION, KNOWLEDGE AND SKILL REQUIREMENTS:   

  • Post-secondary education university or college diploma in a discipline appropriate and relevant to Community Outreach, volunteer or fundraising. 
  • Direct work experience in fundraising events in a non-profit, community organization
  • Extensive knowledge and experience in a general office work environment.
  • Knowledge of the social service sector.
  • The ability to handle multiple and competing priorities effectively and efficiently daily. 
  • Excellent writing and oral communications skills.
  • Advanced Computer experience and skills in use of Microsoft Office 365, Outlook, Word, Excel, Power Point, Outlook, Social Media platforms, Teams, as well as Zoom.
  • Proven planning, organization and time-management capabilities to respond to competing priorities
  • Detail oriented with the ability to take initiative to establish priorities, plan ahead and meet deadlines.
  • Customer-service focused, collaborative, and strong interpersonal skills
  • Ability to work in a team environment
  • A self-starter attitude and the ability to take initiative to independently problem solve
  • Ability to learn software applications and use web based applications
  • Flexibility to attend evening and weekend events
  • Candidate must have a valid G driver’s license, be insurable with the agencies insurance company and have access to a personal vehicle
  • Travel may be required
  • Must have a current Vulnerable Sector Police Clearance
  • Proof of Covid-19 Vaccination
  • Bilingualism considered a strong asset

  • Take the primary lead in developing a client data base
  • Sharing with those around you, the mission of the Agency
  • Answer any questions about the work we do
  • Inspiring others to donate
