POSITION INFORMATION:

This accounting position is very hands-on and will include costing and pricing inventory; posting vehicle deals, prepare sales commissions, business office sales remittances, reconciliation of all vehicles schedules, month-end procedures, financial statements, analysis, and metrics.

DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Responsible for month-end and all steps necessary including journal entries, Accruals etc. to producing accurate and timely financial statements for dealership/franchise.
  • Responsible for review/ cross review monthly financial statements.
  • Reconcile accounting schedules monthly
  • Prepare management reports
  • Post vehicle deals for designated dealership including new, used, wholesale, dealer trades and fleet
  • Prepare vehicle related cheques, such as dealer trade and customer refund.
  • Post, follow up, reconcile all vehicle related transactions and schedules, such as vehicle invoices, commission, accounts receivable for vehicle sales, factory program money, flooring payout, etc.
  • Co-ordinate and participate in inventory count
  • Inventory schedule reconciliation and recording adjustments to accounting records
  • Reconcile and prepare cheque requisition for remittances: extended warranty, credit life and disability insurance.
  • Send contract in-transit to manufacturers and financial institutions.
  • Posting EFT payments and contract proceeds.
  • Support Accounting and team in achieving business plan goals.
  • Champion Cowell Auto Group brand platform, which includes Mission Statement and Core Values.
  • Promote positive work relationships with all staff, customers, manufacturers and business partners.
  • Ensure timely completion of tasks according to accounting polices
  • Such other duties as may be assigned.

QUALIFICATIONS:

  • At least 2-3 years of relevant accounting experience in a high-volume, complex business
  • College diploma or accounting certificate
  • Must have dealership accounting experience
  • Full-cycle accounting experience
