Our company has a 65 year history of providing exceptional medical care to the area. The CPDMH Foundation was established in 1994 to strengthen the hospital’s ability to provide high quality health care for patients. Funds are raised for vital patient care equipment purchases, staff training, student bursaries and upgrades to the hospital facility.

Reporting directly to the CPDMH Foundation Executive Director, the Donor Engagement and Communications Officer will provide strategic and tactical support in the areas of donor engagement, community engagement and communications. You will work collaboratively with the Foundation team and individuals across the organization to support important fundraising programs and build community awareness for our important cause.

This position plays a key role in executing Donor Engagement and Communications activities including:

  • Supports the Executive Director in the development and delivery of fundraising programs and initiatives including monthly giving, direct mail, minor gifts and events
  • Identifies eligible grant opportunities, ensures the timely completion and submission of grant applications
  • Plans and supports the work of volunteers for the implementation of programs and events
  • Identifies potential new sources for contributions within the community, such as individuals, community organizations and businesses
  • Proactively connects with individuals, community organizations and businesses to encourage donations and/or volunteering
  • Fosters a strong relationship with Foundation volunteers, providing training, guidance and recognition as required
  • Provides direction to the Donor Stewardship and Office Coordinator to ensure gifts are recorded, receipted and acknowledgements are provided
  • Works with the Executive Director to develop an annual communications plan and leads its implementation
  • Identifies creative ways to tell the story of the Foundation, our work and those we support, monitors social and traditional media for opportunities and trends
  • Creates, in consultation with the Executive Director, inspiring and effective marketing and communications material including but not limited to solicitation requests, newsletters, impact reports, web content, news releases, letters, brochures and social media content.
  • Ensures all marketing and communication collateral reflects the key messages, the brand and the style/tone of the Foundation.

Education/Experience

  • Minimum of five years’ experience in a communications or donor engagement role with a not-for-profit or charity or in a healthcare setting preferred
  • An understanding of fundraising and donor stewardship strategies and tactics
  • Experience working with volunteers and boards of directors
  • Experience with direct mail and program management an asset

 

Competitive compensation & benefits package which includes:

  • Salary range is $55,000 to $70,000
