Position Summary

 

The Human Resources Coordinator plays an integral role within the Resort to ensure successful delivery and support of HR programs and services. Reporting to the Director of Human Resources, this position provides administration and service support to all department and resort associates. Main areas of responsibility include payroll, onboarding and recruitment, file maintenance, training and development and health and safety.

Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Full cycle recruitment including: advertising, interviewing, hiring, managing all applicable paperwork and onboarding documentation
  • Process data transactions in multiple HRIS systems such as, initial new hire processing, team member status changes, personal data, compensation and benefits, payroll, etc
  • Ensure accurate and up to date storage of documentation and precise entry of employee information
  • Help develop and implement HR policies and strategies to incentivize and guide employees and manage consistent application and communication of HR policies and procedures throughout the Resort
  • Create, update and maintain employee handbooks, job descriptions and other training materials
  • Responsible for tracking participant enrolment, marks and other training information within a learning management system
  • Assist with administration and execution of WSIB claims with associates, leader and provider including submission, return to work offers and plans and ongoing communication and training
  • Coordinate employee recognition programs
  • Spearhead the employee engagement and plan activities that best fit the resort's culture
  • Update and maintain employee communication tools
  • Follow industry trends and research new initiatives
  • Keep current with all applicable laws and regulations
  • Practice discretion and confidentiality of information per privacy and employment legislations
  • Responsible for associate communications and special administrative projects as requested
  • Spearhead Health & Safety programs and work closely with the JHSC to ensure active participation, compliance and committee initiatives
  • Adhere to all environmental policies and programs as required boards and intranet
  • Responsible for administrative assistance with creation and design, reporting and tracking
  • Support the HR Director on employee relations as needed

 

 

Qualifications:

 

  • 2-3 years of previous human resources experience including administration and recruitment
  • Post-secondary degree, diploma or certification in human resources management or working towards it
  • CHRP designation or working towards completion is an asset
  • Previous resort or hospitality experience an asset
  • Previous experience as a member and working knowledge of the JHSC team is required
  • Previous experience working on claims management and return to work programs
  • Working knowledge of various employment governing bodies: Employment Standards Act in Ontario, Human Rights Code, Ministry of Labour, Occupational Health & Safety Act
  • Must be computer literate. Preferred candidate will have previous experience with human resources management software, Microsoft Word, Excel and Powerpoint
  • Previous payroll and HRIS experience is required
  • Presentation skills is an asset
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills
  • Detail-oriented and works with a high degree of accuracy
  • Ability to multi-task in a fast-paced environment
  • Must be extremely responsible with integrity and ability to maintain confidentiality and discretion
  • Must be able to work flexible hours including evenings, weekends and holidays
